Viruses and Chronic FatigueHome Viruses and Chronic Fatigue The etiology of chronic fatigue syndrome has been attributed to a number of causes, all which seems to be indefinite. Viruses and chronic fatigue syndrome has been linked several times because of the flu-like symptoms that accompany the condition. Viruses and chronic fatigue also seems the more compatible cause since it exhibits itself the way that viruses would affect the human body. The evidence linking viruses and chronic fatigue syndrome is manifested in the onset of flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle and joint pains. This is followed by a persistent manifestation of illness and fatigue. Viruses and chronic fatigue has shown us that this could be one of the major causes of the condition. Studies show that viruses associated with chronic fatigue syndrome includes measles, rubella, influenza, Epstein-Barr virus, hepatitis C and enterovirus among others. Some medical experts postulate that viruses and chronic fatigue are inextricably linked and that not only one, but two or more viruses are present to reactivate the viral agents in the body to cause the condition. Other experts in the scientific field theorize that a virus may enter the body causing the body’s immune system to react. In the process, it may cause abnormalities that causes chronic fatigue syndrome. The immune system however may be slow or unable to recover allowing for the attack of viruses and chronic fatigue follows as a result. Viruses and chronic fatigue syndrome is considered linked to each other and that the entrance of virus into the body may lead activate another virus already present in the body. Although there is yet conclusive evidence to suggest this, viruses have been considered as one of the causes of chronic fatigue syndrome.
